Rod Woodruff
Rod Woodruff is the owner and founder of the Buffalo Chip Campground outside of Sturgis.
1982 was the first year for the Buffalo Chip. The campground was originally started as a party to allow bikers to crash on the ground rather than get back out on the highway. Since then, the 240 acre campground has become a staple of the annual Rally.
Rod Woodruff really likes motorcycles. He gave his parents fits about motorcycles when he was 2 or 3 years old.
Incidentally, the Buffalo Chip was the first biker campground, so its founding was the birth of the whole campground industry in the motorcycle world.
"People come here and make friends and then look for those friends the next year or the year after."
"There's not a better biking road anywhere than these roads going through the Black Hills. This is a wonderful place to be on a motorcycle in the summer."
